Exercise selection

3D Driving-School consists of different journeys which train different aspects of driving a car. The driving exercises get little by little more difficult and the traffic also increases steadily. There are both day and night journeys and the obligatory cross-country trips on the country-road or the motorway.

First select the desired scene in the exercise menu. For selecting either move the slider with the mouse or else with the cursor arrow - keys. You can go through all exercises from the beginning in the order which fits to your driving skill.

Starting the 3D Driving-School the slider stands on the first driving exercise. It is the simplest and shortest exercise since we practise only turning right to traffic lights (only in the first exercise you do not have to press the  F  key for driving; this must be done as of the second exercise. ).

After you passed a driving exercise successfully, you can put the push slider onto another step manually. The right "clinical thermometer" shows the interest of the driving exercises gone through successfully (only the driving exercises are counted with the difficulty step "expert" here, though). You can change to the examination at 100%.

A country flag shows the traffic regulations being valid here. Furthermore a short note says whether the driving exercise was been or broken off ("not ready"). A record of your driving errors is shown to you when pressing the button "diploma". This categorisation orientates itself at the official check sheets:

The failure points are announced in the lower area. You can permit yourself at most 6 driving errors per driving exercise to pass an exercise. Altogether, at most 60 failure points are permitted in all driving exercises to be able to take part in the driving examination. The display of the number of driving lessons is only informative.

The button "Start!" drops you with your car into a virtual city (you also can press the Return-key).Our virtual driving instructor sits next to you. He conducts you over a predefined way. Follow the instructions of the driving instructor.

You have driven correctly if no fault dialog appears after crossing a junction. Sometimes the driving instructor is also cheerful and praises you when turning off without faults. If you, however, should have lost your way, you can repeat the last crossroads or else try to find alone the route again. In this case a special choice dialog appears. Like in the right driving lesson, you can drive around the block of buildings once until you come in into the correct street again. You also can press the Return-key during these dialogs instead of using the mouse (in that case the function of the button marked blue will always be activated). The blue/yellow arrow-icon resp. the compass needle in your navigation-system will always point at the exit to be found.

Sometimes it isn't easy to find the route. Example " At the next opportunity turn to the right ":
You must find out yourself where turning off is permitted. No announcement in front of a junction means that you shall drive on straight ahead. In the case of a junction on a bend you shall follow the priority road. If you don't get further any more: Simply switch on the direction support.

Therefore always thinking of it:
If the announcement is missing, drive on straight ahead or follow the run of the priority road!

At very serious faults the driving instructor stops the exercise, though. Going over red traffic lights would be such a misconduct. After that the above main menu will be displayed again and you must repeat the driving exercise. If you didn't want that the driving exercise is stopped in such situations, switch off rule support at the driving options dialog. This then permits driving on.

Using the function "Diploma" a fault detailed view is shown according to the selected driving exercise. The criteria listed there orientate themselves at the real driving test protocol. This function also can be activated by pressing the space bar.

You can drive alone selecting the button "Free Drive!" without driving instructors in the virtual towns. Since all towns are connected over a central motorway, you can move completely freely. But you may drive only with a little experience without driving instructor! Once activated this goes for all exercises, however! Drive at least 3 driving exercises until end. After that the button "Free Drive!" remains activated.

Note:
Please take into account that you also can go through a driving training by moving the slider on the first position to the left. You practise the handling of a vehicle on a car park before taking part in the traffic.
