Options: Steering wheel and joystick

Here you find options for the activation and customization of the joy-stick and steering wheel devices.

If you liked to use a steering wheel, then you have to activate the choice "Activate steering wheel". The "gas pedal" reacts now differently. Normally, a "constant gas" is used with pure keyboard handling (this means that "Activate steering-wheel or joystick" is not marked). However, using the steering wheel option you must "give realistic gas". This means that you permanently must press the right gas pedal a bit, since your vehicle otherwise gets slower and slower.

If you use a joy-stick instead of a steering wheel:
Move the joy-stick forwards to accelerate and back to brake. You reach an emergency stop by drawing the joy-stick back jerkily. You also can carry out the configuration of the joy-stick keys yourself.

Pressing the different steering wheel/joy-stick buttons a blue letter will be highlighted . A-C, X Z corresponds to the 6 steering wheel buttons. You can change the assignment of the steering wheel buttons as in the case of the keyboard. At several steering wheels it might be possible to use more steering wheel buttons "7-10" for a function assignment.

Your joy-stick or steering wheel should in addition be calibrated (i.e. adjusted) within the option dialog. Press once the "Calibrate..."-Button and move your Gamecontroller according to the instructions in the status line. Your settings are saved permanently.

Information about the section "Technics":
You can drive with two equipment parallel. For example a steering wheel and a joy-stick to use its additional buttons. The choice „Controller 1“ and „Controller 2“ determines, which device number the steering wheel was assigned within the Windows system control. This is usually number 1. The calibration for steering, gas and brake then gets active only of the appropriately select device. The buttons are, however, always usable, independent for the controller setting.

Depending on an available device driver the axes of the steering wheel react differently. If you don't have any device driver of the steering wheel manufacturer or else if gas and brake don't behave as expected, please activate the option "HID" (this stands for Human Interface Device) or the option "Extra gas" (simply try out).
