You can change display resolution, screen-resolution, and colour depth here.
For the screen resolution certain settings only can be used depending on your graphics card. At first you should test this. Before you try out a changed screen setting, you can verify this setting using the button "Check for 3s...". 3D Driving-School then modifies the screen resolution for 3 seconds. If the picture could be adjusted well, you may confirm this with pressures of the OK button or the hitting the Return key. Furthermore during normal driving it is possible to switch the screen resolution by pressing the F5 key, too.
After installation of the 3D Driving-School a low screen resolution of 800x600 is selected. This resolution is supported by all common PCs.If you have a high-speed PC, a higher setting is recommendably (1024x768 or even higher). If your 3D picture jerks, however, you should try out a low setting: 640x480 pixels. The "Frame rate" displayed shouldn't come under 10 pictures per second (fps = frames by second). The following settings for the screen resolution are possible:
By increasing the option "Details (Performance)" the look distance is prolonged at high-speed calculating machines. The refresh rate of the 3D screen can be increased by lowering that value.
It is also possible to change to the video mode from full-screen to window and vice vera. Since the Alt and Return keys are already assigned to driving functions, one cannot use this Windows function for changing the video mode. By pushing the buttons of "Videomode" and pushing OK you also achieve a change. Remember, the video-mode setting isn't stored, though, since you can already distinguish between full-screen (choice "3D Driving-School") and window mode (choice "3D Driving-School (Window)") at the start of the 3D Driving-School in the Windows menu:
